Medical Interpreter Jobs, Employment in San Antonio, TX | Indeed.com Job details Job Type Contract Full Job Description Korean On-Site Medical Interpreter (San Antonio, TX) Language Desired: Korean Summary: The on-site interpreter will facilitate communication for Limited English Proficient (LEP) community members and the practitioners that serve them in a variety of medical settings. We combine proven technology with experienced interpreters, to allow direct connection through our Stratus InPerson App. This freelance position is flexible and an opportunity to expand your interpreting business, with access to many sessions per day via the Stratus InPerson App. We serve clients across the United States and have a reputation for rapid connections, accessible interpreters speaking more than 200 languages, exceptional customer service and an infrastructure built on education and investment in our people. Driven by “improving lives through better communication”, we are seeking energetic, qualified professionals to join our stellar team to continue helping providers communicate with their patients regardless of language or cultural barrier. In-Person Interpreter Responsibilities: Provide effective on-site interpreting service for consumers. Exhibit professional behavior at all times including punctuality and preparedness for shifts and be respectful. Demonstrate the ability to adapt quickly to new and changing technologies. Pass screening before taking in-person commitments. Adhere to interpreter ethical standards and procedural requirements specific to interpreting context (i.e. hospitals, courts, schools, etc.). Spoken Language Minimum Qualifications: Fluent and have strong verbal communication skills in both the source and target language (i.e. Korean-to-English or vice-a-versa). Must have a minimum of 2 years of in-person medical interpreting experience, within a hospital or clinical setting, credentialed in medical interpreting (i.e.: MITS, Bridging the Gap, MiTio, Cross-Cultural training, 40-hour accredited medical courses) – preferred but not required. Proven medical training with certification, certificate or license is preferred but not required. Strong aptitude and passion for customer service and interpreting. Respect for and understanding of our Limited English Proficient (LEP) clients, culture, dialect and beliefs and preferences as it relates to legal procedures. Extensive knowledge of code of ethics and standards of practice (IMIA, NBCMI and NCIHC). Familiarity with the medical profession and its privacy laws (HIPAA) as well as other state and federal laws applied to medical interpreting. Desired Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of in-person medical interpreting experience, within a hospital or clinical setting. Degree or certifications in interpreting practices. Some Korean speakers prefer to communicate in their native language when they go to see a doctor, when they need to talk to teachers and, in some cases, when they have a legal case in court. Our company has been in business in San Antonio for the last 36 years and now we see an increase in the number of requests from hospitals, clinics, schools and in local courts. We are looking for individuals who are 18 years of age or older with, at least, a high school diploma. If they don't have experience we offer free training. Our company offers payment for services rendered. We don't have a specific case at the moment, but we know that we'll need individuals available at different times and dates. We are looking for people available to go physically to different locations around San Antonio.

Primary Responsibilities: You assist in determining the suitability of donors to undergo plasmapheresis prior to venipuncture. You establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness with the center to support long-term donation, all while ensuring donor confidentiality. You respond to and assist with handling donor reactions in accordance with guidelines. Monitors donor and equipment to ensure health of donors and quality of product. Sets up, disconnects, and operates the automated plasmapheresis machines including response and evaluation of all autopheresis troubleshooting displays, documentation of exceptions, etc. Ensures the proper calibration and maintenance of autopheresis machines and associated equipment. May be trained to repair plasma equipment. Disconnects and disposes of all contaminated disposable equipment. Ensures proper cleaning of equipment and work area between donors. Maintains accurate and thorough documentation of production records. You report all unsafe situations or conditions to area lead, supervisor or manager. Are you a fit for Grifols? Yes, if you have: High School diploma, GED or foreign equivalency. Knock-your-socks-off customer service skills, and ability to work flexible scheduling to meet business needs. Proficient in speaking and writing English, with legible handwriting. Where applicable, bi-lingual Spanish/Korean/Mandarin skills. Ability to understand and follow SOPs and protocols, and perform in a highly-regulated, operations intensive, high-volume medical business in which the safety of donors and employees, as well as the quality of the plasma collected, are paramount. Do you have any experience? Our Level 1 (PO9300) typically requires no previous related experience although preference may be given to those with some training or prior experience. Our Level 2 (PO9301) typically requires 1 year of experience in primary area. Note that certain state licensures or certifications may apply.
